A US warplane killed a number of Iranian-backed militiamen in Iraq after they fired a short-range ballistic missile at American and allied personnel within the nation, the Pentagon mentioned on Tuesday.
“We will verify an assault final night time by Iran-backed militias utilizing a close-range ballistic missile towards US and coalition forces at Al-Asad Airbase, which resulted in eight accidents and a few minor injury to infrastructure,” Pentagon spokesman Brigadier Common Pat Ryder mentioned in an announcement.
“Instantly following the assault, a US navy AC-130 plane within the space performed a self-defense strike towards an Iranian-backed militia car and various Iranian-backed militia personnel concerned on this assault. This self-defense strike resulted in a number of enemy KIA (killed in motion),” Ryder mentioned.
