Innumerate CoRev writes:
“[I am] Simply smiling on the idiocy and cognitive dissonance of the renewables zealots. …EV purchases dropping…coal use rising”
Like innumerable issues CoRev writes, this appeared mistaken, so I regarded up US DoE EIA knowledge, and downloaded this:
Determine 1: US coal consumption (mild blue), seasonally adjusted by writer (darkish blue), all in hundreds of tons. NBER outlined peak-to-trough recession dates shaded grey. Supply: EIA, NBER, and writer’s calculations.
Coal consumption appears to be like prefer it’s declining to me, until one is a really quick horizon.
As for EV gross sales, they appear to be they’re rising to me:
Supply: Gearino, InsideClimate, Oct 26, 2023.
Now, it could be that CoRev has entry to super-secret different sequence that inform a distinct story than the EIA sequence (or it could be a plot by the Deep State’s statistical minions). And he may also know that Cox Automotive has been infiltrated by mentioned Deep State brokers, so these numbers are to not be believed. I’m afraid I don’t have time to analyze these prospects.
I go away it to readers to dissect CoRev’s different errors in his remark. My important level – don’t take as given assertions by (1) people who’ve no concept the best way to conduct time sequence evaluation (not to mention apparently learn a graph), and (2) those that go about accusing others of manipulating knowledge with out understanding the place the information are coming from. For a compendium of CoRev-related cautionary tales I give my coverage evaluation/stats college students, see right here (or in case you simply wish to chortle and chortle and chortle).
